Mr. Johnny Michael Holtsclaw, 47, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at his mother’s home with his family by his side.
Johnny was born in Charlotte, NC on February 10, 1967, to Mary Forrest Guffey Holtsclaw. He grew up as a member attending Clemmons First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of West Forsyth High School. Johnny was employed by Allied Systems as a car hauler for 21 years. He enjoyed all sports from all aspects of life, from playing to watching his daughter play to becoming an avid sports fan. He was a very unselfish, humble and caring man, who saw people for who they truly are on the inside. Johnny was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Chelsea Marie “Pookie” Holtsclaw of the home; his beloved dog, Tootie; mother, Mary Forrest Guffey Holtsclaw Robbins and her husband, Boyd; brother, Timothy Holtsclaw of Clemmons and his children, Miranda, Alex, and Nathan Holtsclaw; aunt, Jane Graley of Clemmons and her children, Jessica Petree and her husband, Heath and their baby, Harper, T.J. and Chance Graley; uncle, Basil Guffey and wife Julie of Clemmons and their children, Kayla and Marissa Guffey; step daughter, Amber Lankford of Winston-Salem; and best friends Andy Spry and Jill Harrell. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Basil and Mary Frances Guffey and an uncle, Terry Graley.
A service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 17th in The Family Life Center of Clemmons First Baptist Church, with Mr. Mike Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
