She was born June 16, 1957 in High Point, the daughter of James W. and Virginia L. Cochrane Jarrett. She married Michael Sweeney on March 19, 1977. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Kristen (Ryan Cullen) Sweeney of Angier, Shannon Sweeney of Clemmons, and Adam Sweeney of Clemmons; one granddaughter, Elynor Cullen of Angier; her mother, Virginia Jarrett of High Point; one brother, James “Tim” Jarrett of High Point; and her three dogs, Cooper, Hooch, and Samson.
She is preceded in death by her father.
She was employed by Trader Joe’s in Winston-Salem.
Joni was devoted to her family and loved her dogs.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at Frank Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel in Clemmons.
