Lauren Joy Knight, 33, of Clemmons passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at her home. She was born October 16, 1982 in Forsyth County to Michael Russell and Rita Craft Knight. She graduated from Mount Tabor High School in 2001. Lauren was a beacon of light. When she entered a room, everyone knew it, as it was illuminated by her contagious smile, laced with laughter, love and kindness. Lauren was spontaneous, full of life, creative, had a flair for fashion, loved being an aunt, and most importantly loved her family and loved others. When it came to children and the elderly, she had a softness and tenderness toward them; one might say, “She just had a way with them.” Lauren loved, cared for, and thought of others. Her love for her family, friends, and even animals was unconditional. Our family’s loss is immense, as we’ve lost an irreplaceable chunk of our hearts that was abundantly filled by beautiful Lauren Joy. So appropriate was her middle name, Joy, as she was a source of smiles, hugs, laughter, joy and love to so many. She will be missed more than words can say, and our tears will be many, but we take comfort knowing that in our loss heaven has gained the sweetest angel. She was preceded by her grandparents, William Delbert Craft, Joy Kiser Craft, and Reverend James H. Knight. In addition to her parents, surviving are a sister, Meredith Knight Holden (Joe) and their children, Patrick and Madison; paternal grandmother Louise F. Knight; her aunts and uncles, James H. Knight (Jeane), Sam L. Knight, Anita K. Ring (Jack), Del Craft (Sherry); and numerous cousins, Michael Knight, Mary K. Glauber, Julia K. Puntigan, Rusty Knight, Lindsey K. Kidd, Jamie Hughes, Jordyn Evans, Laurel Walter, Andrea Hicks and Tripp Craft. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday at Frank Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private family graveside service will be held Tuesday at Crestview Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Piedmont Triad Chapter, 216 West Market Street, Suite B, Greensboro, NC 27401; Alzheimer’s Association, 4615 Dundas Circle, Greensboro, N.C. 27407 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
