

Winston-Salem- Mr. Leonard Odell Freeman, 82, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be at Frank Vogler & Sons, Reynolda Road Chapel, on Thursday, May 31 at 12 PM with Dr. Gus Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
Mr. Freeman was born in Guilford County to the late Walter B. and Maggie Robbins Freeman. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and owned and operated Freeman’s Steel in Kernersville for several years. He attended Glen View Baptist Church. He was a family man and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Freeman was thankful for every day of life and liked to remind others to do the same.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margie Henderson Freeman of Winston-Salem; daughters, Amy F. Stinson (Neal) of East Bend and Kim Ingram of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Patrick, Hannah and Lydia Stinson and Thomas and Asheleigh Ingram; and former son-in-law, Tom Ingram of Picayune, MS.
