Known as Tita Lily, she was born in the Philippines on January 14, 1938. In the 1960s she immigrated to the United States to build on her career as a registered nurse. With her husband, Tito Tony, by her side, they brought with them the passion of spreading the Catholic faith. Tita Lily was instrumental in creating a strong Catholic community wherever they lived – Paete, Philippines; New York City, NY; Stony Brook, NY; and finally, Clemmons, NC.
Tita Lily was a very creative woman. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, and baking. There was never a shortage of plant care supplies in her house, and she took meticulous care of her orchids. She often talked about making chiffon cake, which was her favorite. Tita Lily also had a great sense of humor. When she started needing a walker to get around, she named it “Cadillac,” which was endearing already. However, Filipinos might appreciate the play on word because ‘Cadillac’ was short for “Cadi-LAKAD’.
Lilia was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Madrinan. She was the youngest and last remaining Asido sibling of her generation. Having had no children, she leaves behind her Sister-In-Law, Gloria T. Asido, and her closest nieces and nephews: Dexter T. Asido, Erwin Sityar, Irma Sityar, Emily Sityar Cornell, Leah T. Asido, Macario Asido III, Raymond B. Asido, Laura Asido Castro, Decerel Asido Mendoza, Aleli Asido, Edwin Asido, Roehl Asido, Emil Asido, and many more in the Philippines and other countries.
The family would like to give special recognition and gratitude to Clifford and Leila Gonzalez, and Bernadette Cruz for their dedication to helping Tita Lily and Tito Tony over the years but especially in the last years of their life. A special thanks to the Holy Family Church of Clemmons, NC and their members for her supporting her spiritual needs. The church was truly a light in her life.
A visitation for Lilia will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church.
