Lucille Wrights Wood

Mrs. Lucille Wrights Wood, 88, of Clemmons passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011. She was the eldest of ten children born to William H. and Grace Taylor Wrights. Mrs. Wood was a member of Boyers Church of Christ where she was an active member in church activities and the community until a period of declining health. Mrs. Wood loved to travel, was a social butterfly and enjoyed her involvement with the DMA Club (Don't Mention Age) and various senior citizen meetings. She was a wonderful cook and thoroughly enjoyed gardening. She won many blue ribbons at the Dixie Classic Fair with her food and craft entries. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her brothers, William H. Wrights, Jr. and Roy F. Wrights; sister, Judith Bowden; brother-in-law, Charles McVay; and sister-in-law, Joanne Wrights. She is survived by her son, Bobby W. Wood; brothers, Harry L. Wrights (Bonnie), Lloyd Wrights, Allen L. Wrights (Dorothy), and Ronald E. Wrights (Janet); sisters, Onie McVay and Nancy Kwall; grandchildren, Robin Bralley, Randy Wood, and Russell Wood; 8 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ila Wrights. A Service Celebrating her Life will be on Saturday, January 16, 2011, 11 a.m., at Boyers Church of Christ. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
