Margaret Mary Weatherwax Leonard

Margaret Mary (Margie) Weatherwax Leonard passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2023 in Lexington, NC. Margie was born in Winston-Salem on October 24, 1951. Margie was predeceased by her parents, Margaret Weatherwax and FG Weatherwax, as well as her brother, William (Billy) Weatherwax. Margie graduated from RJ Reynolds in 1970. She attended Mitchell College and High Point University. She was married to her soulmate, Danny, for 50 years. Margie's work history included being a respiratory therapist as well as a small dog breeder. Margie's true calling was being a wife, a mother and a friend to anyone who needed her. She never met a stranger! And would give you the shirt off her back! Margie is survived by her husband, Danny R. Leonard, 2 daughters, Amy Leonard Williams and Kelly Leonard Myers (Jason) and 4 grandchildren, Gage Williams, Keaton Williams, Tucker Myers and Kelsey Myers, as well as 2 sisters, Sallie Weatherwax Lay (Bill) and Kay Weatherwax Hicks (Skeet). A Celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm Friday at Vogler Funeral in Clemmons. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service and following the service at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care.
