He was born to Dewey and Treva Cromer Meadows on January 27, 1931 in Forsyth County.
Melvin proudly serviced his country in the Navy on the USS George E. Davis. He spent his life working at RJ Reynolds as a millwright. Melvin would spend his free time golfing and fishing.
Melvin leaves behind his loving wife of over 50 years, Margaret Johnson Meadows; his nephews, Damon Kidd, Lance Berrier, and George W (Mary) Skirm; nieces, Shirley (Charles) Wheeler, Deborah (Harold) Honeycutt, and Brenda Hall; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and loved ones.
The Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11:00 am at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Rd. The family will receive friends for a Visitation one hour prior to the service. Melvin will be laid to rest at Forsyth Memorial Park following the service.
