Peggy Edwards

Peggy was born August 27, 1931 and grew up in Forsyth County. She graduated from Old Richmond High School in 1949. Peggy worked at Hugh Pfaff Poultry Company in Tobaccoville, where she served as secretary treasurer until her retirement in December of 1996. She was a lifelong, devoted and loved member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Peggy taught Sunday school and bible studies at New Hope United Methodist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband in Billy S. Edwards in 2011; son, Michael H. Edwards and her parents Hugh M. Pfaff and Margaret Whitman Pfaff.

Peggy is survived by daughters Lynn E. Lyons (Jimmy) and Sherri E. Jackson (Jeff); daughter-in-law, Melba Edwards; grandchildren Traci Holden-Bache (Chad), Laura Johns (Jay), Kristen Trivitte (Shane), Justi Cernak (Derek), Jeremy Edwards (Lori), Nick Hansen and Corey Jackson (Samantha).

She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Savannah, Skylar, Sayge, Hunter Holden-Bache, Zoey Johns and Karter Johns, Logan Edwards, Oliver Gray and Avery Grace Trivitte, Dakota and Canton Cernak and Caleb Jackson. Also surviving are a loving sister, Shirley Ring (Lonnie); nieces Bonitia Cleary (Jaime) and Jeanna Lauffenburger (Gregg) and many other special family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev Dr. Suzanne G. Michael and Rev. Bill Currie officiating. Interment will follow at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Vienna Village for their support, love and care during Peggy’s time there.
