It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved father, Ronald Carl Leidiger. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 16, 1941, to Carl and Grace Nichols-Leidiger, he was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jean (Robert) Hanetho, and his wife Kathleen Beckman-Leidiger. Ron left us on August 18, 2024, at the age of 83.
After serving his country with honor as a member of the U.S. Army, Ron married and became a devoted father. He began his career plumbing high-rise buildings in downtown Chicago and later moved to residential work, a craft he mastered from his father, Carl. Ron’s humility and work ethic are values passed down through the generations.
Not only was Ron a man of principle, but he also possessed exceptional artistic talent. He created countless works of art, including oil paintings, stained glass, sandblasted glass, and bronze statues, all of which will be cherished for years to come.
Ron enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Bears, watching Formula One races, listening to music, and driving his cars. He looked forward to spending time with family and friends more than anything else.
Those who knew Ron will remember his intelligence, humor and wit that made every moment spent with him memorable. His unwavering honesty and integrity were inspiration to everyone.
Above all, Ron’s greatest pride and joy were his children: daughters Kerri Leidiger-Stain and Kendra (Kevin) Leidiger-Andrews, as well as his stepsons Kenneth (Dana) Beckman and Christopher (Diana) Beckman, and his ten grandchildren—Sierra Stain, Savanna Stain, Summer Stain, Trevor (Anam) Rosberg, Haley Andrews, Kaelyn Andrews, Hannah Beckman, Ethan Beckman, Mia Beckman, and Daniella Beckman. His legacy of love, honesty, laughter, and creativity will live on through them and the countless lives he touched.
In remembrance of Ron, we invite you to listen to one of his favorite songs, Pink Floyd’s "Wish You Were Here." He will be deeply missed but forever loved. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to Lake Norman Humane, where Ron adopted his beloved dog, Poppy
