

Ruth was born on August 10, 1917, in Ridgeway, NY, to the late William August Todkill and Clara Betts Todkill. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Dr. Elias G. Theros. She was also preceded in death by her dear friend, Mr. John Pastor.
Ruth lived her early years in Barker, New York. She graduated from Barker High School in 1935 and was a member of Countyline United Methodist Church. Ruth studied art at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she met her late husband, Lee. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Art at San Diego State University at a later date. Lee and Ruth had a wonderful life together and traveled extensively through his career in the Navy and the medical field. She enjoyed this greatly. Ruth loved her Art work and painted until the last days of her life. She also loved gardening, flowers, and landscaping, and interior designing. She loved her family dearly and was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three children, George A. Theros of Thailand, Tod Theros and wife, Marion of Haymarket, VA, and Stephanie T. Reid and husband, Rick of Lewisville; sister, Reah Johnson of Medina, NY; grandchildren, Lee Theros, Tamiko Mackie, Derrick Theros, Jintara Theros, Sushi Theros, Joel Theros, Amy Kay, Stephanie Fitzpatrick, Rhys Theros, Stuart Soley, Gregory Soley, Melanie Soley, Warren Reid, Leigh Anne Reid; ten great grandchildren, Caroline, Carter, Morgan, Sophie, Catelyn, Lauren, Kaci, Ruby, Lexie, and Valentina; her niece Rebecca Ott, and nephews Truman and Rob Johnson; Mr. Pastor’s family Randy and Fred Moritz, Alix Kolt, Drew and Adele Pastor, and Ms. Liz Pastor.
A celebration of her life will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband to be announced at a later date.
The family would like to send a special thank you and is grateful to Dr. Golnush Sharafsaleh, Dr. Heidi Klepin, and Dr. Peter Robie for their compassionate care over the years.
