

Winston-Salem- Sandra Gasperin Vanhoy, 85, passed away May 4, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Graveside services for Mrs. Vanhoy will be at 11:30 AM, Monday, May 9, 2011 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Father Lucas Rossi officiating.
Mrs. Vanhoy was born in Belluno, Italy to Gioacchino and Rachele Trevessoi Gasperin. She met and married Sam E. Vanhoy in 1947 and together they moved to Elkin, NC where they lived until 1965 when they came to Winston-Salem. She worked for more than forty years with Hanes Hosiery as an inspector at the Weeks plant. Mrs. Vanhoy enjoyed sewing, meeting with her friends from the retirees group at Hanes Hosiery and always kept a large garden in her yard.
She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church since coming to Winston-Salem.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter and husband, Anita and Mauricio Agudelo of Sao Paulo, Brazil; and their children, Maria Melia, Maria del Pilar, Adriana Maria and Gianluca; and her brother Renzo Gasperin of Sedico, Italy. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Gianni Gasperin. She was a loving wife, mother and Nonna.
