Scott opened SM Interiors in 1980 and in his 40 years of work everyone who experienced his craftsmanship knew there was nothing Scott couldn’t build, fix, or create. Along with his talents, Scott was known for his generosity, humility, and outgoing personality. There was nothing he loved more than dancing to his favorite songs with his two girls while cooking up something in the kitchen. Scott also loved to spend time with his friends and family that he so deeply loved. His contagious laugh and humor had a natural way of bringing fun to every moment you shared with him.
Scott was also unwaveringly humble and always willing to help those around him. There was never a project or endeavor he refused; he was generous with both his time and effort. Scott’s greatest joy was his ability to bring joy to others -- something he did constantly.
Scott is survived by his daughters Emily (Griff) Kuremsky, and Meredith McCliment, grandsons Thomas and Benjamin Kuremsky (who joined the family on Scott’s last birthday this past October); siblings James (Jeanne) McCliment, Lynn (Preston) Broach, Craig (Debbie) McCliment, and Brian McCliment; girlfriend, Karol Cherry; along with many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a future date due to COVID concerns.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Scott’s honor to the House of Prayer, a place that gave Scott and his family the blessing of additional years together. These can be offered to the House of Prayer, 5884 Riverdale Dr, Jamestown, NC 27282.
