

She was the widow of Nicholas Booras. Her parents were the late Louis and Vasiliki Hondros. She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1945. Her life's love was entertaining her grandchildren, baking their favorite cookies and telling them stories before bedtime. Later in life she opened Villa Gifts, and became a successful business woman, and was able to display her artistic talent. Her favorite past time was antiquing. Sophie was survived by her son, Peter Timothy and his wife Anne Booras of Julian, NC. Her daughter Diane and husband John Pfefferkorn of Winston-Salem. Four grandchildren, Mark Giordano, and wife Jennifer, Elise Giordano Mazzoni and husband Marc of San Jose, California, Laura Booras of Santa Maria, California, Kathleen Booras of Charleston, SC. The loves of her life, her great grand children, Elle and Ward Giordano, and Christopher Mazzoni and his unborn sister due in May. Also survived by her brothers Nick Hondros of Atlanta, Ga., Bill Hondros, of Collville, Md., and John and his wife Rena of Wooster, Ohio. Many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her wonderful neighbors for their friendship and assistance over the years.
The funeral will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keeting Drive, Winston-Salem, N.C. January 4, 2016 at 1100 a.m.
Father Demetri Kangelaris will officiate.
