He left behind his adoring wife, partner and artistic soulmate, Barbara Bachtell. They were married 32 years. He also leaves behind his two beloved sons, Avery (31) and Ethan Tucker (27); his parents Julia Kertiss Tucker and the late Harold A. Tucker; his brother David Tucker and wife Melissa Tucker; his niece Gabrielle Natasha Tucker; his sister Alicia Susan Tucker; and his late grandmother the Cleveland knitwear designer Edita Kertis.
Alan’s family were members of The Temple-Tifereth Israel. He attended the Shaker Heights school system and graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (BFA; 1980); his year spent in Rome, Italy was life changing.
A lifelong, dedicated and passionate visual artist with nationally commissioned works (https://www.alanburtontucker.com/), he was a member of the artist studio collective at the Twist Drill Building.
Alan was also a uniquely reliable and dedicated independent delivery contractor for the Plain Dealer, Zoss Bakery, Clockwork Logistics and others.
Alan was deeply kind, generous and caring of family and friends. Known to his family as The Great Puntificator, he loved to play with language, and instilled an atmosphere of lightheartedness.
May his memory be a blessing.
