Anne Pearl Rzepka (née Cohen), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home in Shaker Heights on October 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years young. Anne was born on September 21, 1933 to the late Miriam and Joel Cohen in Perth, Western Australia.
Anne was a true artist—an extraordinarily talented painter, seamstress known for designing and creating her own clothes, and knitter. She valued health and fitness long before it became mainstream and was an excellent cook. She will be remembered as a timeless style icon whose grace and elegance never faded.
Anne is survived by her devoted husband, Fred, with whom she shared 71 years of marriage and 76 wonderful years of life together. In 1960, Anne and Fred set sail from Australia to America with their daughters, Roslyn and Elana. Their son, David, was later born in Cleveland, where they planted roots - building their home, family and lifelong community.
Anne’s greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her children Roslyn (Ted) Friedman, Elana Rzepka, and David (Amy) Rzepka; grandchildren Katie (Michael) Fiala, Daniel (Caryn) Friedman, Erika (Justin) Brunwasser, Tali (Scott) Singer, Molly (Andrew) Weisman, Rachel (Jesse) Schreibman, and Nathan Rzepka; and 12 adored great-grandchildren: Ellie, Lucy, and Daisy Fiala; Hazel and Aria Friedman; Sadie and Marlowe Brunwasser; Simon and Quinn Singer; Nora and Erin Weisman; and Jay Schreibman. Anne also leaves behind her beloved brothers John (Miriam) Cohen, Malcolm (Nurit) Cohen, and Ray (Lori) Cohen; brothers-in-law Peter (Aliki) Rzepka and Harry (Rita) Rzepka; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
