Rose and I still talk about the pig roasts he attended with rose and the kids (aviva &  salomon) .  She would tell me he remembered those pig roast parties and would mention them fondly over the years. Enjoy some BBQ in heaven my friend! 

I'm going to miss grandpa. He was a great man! He opened my eyes to the Jewish traditions. But the most important thing that he did for me was welcoming me into the family with open arms.  Cant say it enough that he was great!

I’m truly going to miss my friend!  He was such a proud family man and showed up for everyone.  My first impression was his kindness, I’ll never forget it!  What a pleasure to have shared some of his lifetime. ❤️

Mr. Stone reminded me somewhat of my father: both were named Arnold, both were hard workers, both were feisty, wiry guys who lived into their 90's thanks to the loving care of a daughter.  I had interesting, far-ranging conversations with Arnold Stone over the years.  I got to know him through his forays to different events with his daughter Rose and also visited him at her home.  We talked easily about his work, politics, philosophy and art.  It makes me smile to remember those visits with him.  I so enjoy the piece of art  he made for me at the senior center.  It has a red cardinal on it and says, "Cardinals appear when angels are near."  I'm sure the cardinals I see will always remind me of him.    

As a fellow veteran, I am extremely grateful to Arnold for his service to our great country.   After graduating from John Adam’s High School, Arnold enlisted in the United States Army serving in Japan immediately after WWII.  When he returned home from Japan, Arnold served with the federal government for more than 30 years.  He worked at the NASA Lewis Research Center during the historic lunar landing project, then the Department of Defense during the organizing of the Defense Supply Agency (DSA) in Cleveland, and he eventually retired from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in the 1980s.   Appropriately, his graveside services will include military honors.

After three decades of service to his country, retirement allowed Arnold to enjoy time with his family and to attend his grand children’s activities.  He also enjoyed traveling.  After moving to Akron in 2013, Arnold became an active volunteer at the Revere Road Synagogue, and he maintained membership with Beth El Temple on the Heights, in Cleveland Heights.  Arnold enjoyed reading and later developed a fondness for ceramics while attending the Summit Adult Day Center. 

Arnold was predeceased by his wife, Diane Stone; his parents Willie and Helen Sonnenstein; his brother Max; and, sister-in-law Evelyn.  

Arnold was an exceptionally good man who dedicated his life to his faith, his family, his country, and to serving others.  He will be dearly missed. I salute you, Arnold
