I worked at the main plant on Euclid Ave, after school..I attended Shaw High School..It was my very first job.  My friend and I. enjoyed packing the cookies, for the different stores, especially when the "broken" cookies could not be sent. It was great when we could eat the the broken cookies.  I also put those wonderful cakes, in boxes for the stores..In time, I worked at the store, they had on the premises...Carl, Ben and Julius taught me good work habits for my first job. I am so very sorry to hear of your loss.
Your Dad who we always called "Mr. Davis" was a truly wonderful and unique man.... who lived a long and
wonderful life surrounded by the family he so loved.  I will never forget the days we spent at your home on East Antisdale and the times we tried to be quiet because "Mr. Davis" worked all night and was trying to get some rest.   
Rest in peace Mr. Davis, you are now with your beloved Shirley and the rest of the family and friends gone before you.  Their will be an extra star in the sky reminding us of you.

it was my pleasure to bump into carl, with dalia and jan, at menorah park last summer.  he seemed pleased to be remembered as the best baker in cleveland.

I spent a beautiful sunny, breezy afternoon a few years ago, listening to Carl's detailed, heartfelt stories of some years gone by...at Montefiore while visiting my Mom....I'll never forget that twinkle in his eye, and the tenderness in his voice as he recounted his experiences. May his memory always be for a blessing, as it has been to so many in the Cleveland community.
