Carolyn Mindel Herman

CAROLYN MINDEL HERMAN, age 85, of Beachwood died peacefully at home on August 6, 2021. Beloved wife of James Garson Herman; loving mother of Andrew, John (wife Lori), and Steven (deceased); dearest sister of Laurence (wife Debbie) Mindel; daughter of the late Eleanor and Seymour Mindel of Toledo, Ohio; dearest sister-in-law of Dee and Bob Herman (both deceased); a loving aunt and a cherished friend to many.

Carolyn met Jim, the love of her life, at Cornell University and built a wonderful life together over 63 years. They traveled the world and were one another’s best friends.

A dedicated learning disabilities teacher in the Shaker Schools for over 35 years, Carolyn was passionate about helping the underdog. Later in life her passion included helping the “4-legged” type underdogs in her own special way. Opera was also another passion with music resonating regularly through the house. Above all, her nearest and dearest family and friends meant the world to her.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 8th at 12:30 at The Temple-Tifereth Israel, 26000 Shaker Blvd, Beachwood, OH 44122.
