

Beloved husband of Roberta (nee Epstein) for 53 years, father of Emily (Adam Savett) and Shari (Joel Hammond). Devoted grandfather of Gavin, Liam, Preston, and Sloane. Brother to Marjorie Mitzner and Anne Fischer-Teger (Michael). Son of the late Pauline and Jerry Lindenbaum.
While Chuck was born in Laurelton, New York, on Long Island, he grew up in Miami Beach, Florida, graduating from Miami Beach High in 1964.
Chuck was an accomplished athlete, finishing third in the state of Florida in high school wrestling. He came to the area on a wrestling scholarship to Kent State University, where he met his wife, Roberta. Chuck also played baseball and football in high school, and was an avid golfer for many years.
After graduating from Kent in 1968 with a degree in business, Chuck spent his career in insurance and investments, spending 30 years with MetLife and then as an independent financial planner thereafter. Chuck was incredibly generous to many causes, including Cleveland-area nonprofits that served the needy.
More than anything, Chuck loved spending time with his family, never missing a family celebration or leading the Seder at Passover. He was a devoted grandfather, keeping up to date on his grandchildren’s athletic and scholastic accomplishments, no matter how big or small.
Chuck was a gregarious people person, maintaining childhood friendships while making new ones wherever he went.
An avid Cleveland sports fan, Chuck rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Cavaliers, Guardians, or Browns. Chuck also managed a fantasy baseball team for several decades, enjoying the ups and downs of managing his team, Chuck Wagon.
With his family and friends, Chuck also enjoyed traveling, whether it was annual road trips to see family in Florida or Washington, D.C., or one of many vacations with longtime friends.Chuck was a member of Park Synagogue for over 40 years.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 24 at the Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel at 1985 South Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights. Interment will be at Bet Olam Cemetery in Beachwood.
Friends and family are invited to 6450 Windy Willow Drive in Solon on Wednesday following interment and on Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
