I first med Dave in 1992. I was a brand new advisor and my first Regional Convention. I really was green. Dave took me under his wing as my mentor and we had great times together. We were called Laurel & Hardy. He was called "Big Dave" and the more you knew him it was his heart that was big. I saw him emotional and stern, but he always cared about his Berger Boys and everyone else around him. I cannot make our vegetable chili without thinking of Dave. RIP my friend.  Peach to the family. 

He provided guidance and good humor during a challenging period in my life.  I will always be grateful to him for being there.  

Dave was an amazing man.  He left an impact on so many people.  He always lead with a smile and was there to offer advice when needed.  BBYO and all the boys under his tutelage were so lucky to learn many a life lesson from him. The world will be a little less without Dave in it.  May his memory be a blessing.   

Jocelyn and family...I was sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I was in Adam AZA with Dave. My son's AZA chapter was advised by Dave. My family and I are thinking of all of you.

A beautiful soul. A kind man. Will be missed by everyone whose life he touched. :(

Dave was my friend during high school.  At our 50th Class Reunion I spoke with him all evening during the Friday night gathering. Dave was a great guy. RIP

Dave was a larger than life guy. He gave every ounce of himself for the betterment of others. I had the honor of advising BBYO teens with him. When I signed up to advise teens I didn't know that I was about to get an advisor for my own life, as an adult. After my initial couple of programs with him, he warmed up and told me words that stuck with me, "You may be a mench now but you can't ride on that forever. You need to keep doing good things or you'll just be another guy who used to be something" (paraphrased for brevity and language). I'm not sure why this stuck with me, but it did. I like to think that sitting and sneaking in a Wendy's burger mid program with him (a few more times than I can count) I gained more than a few insights from Dave's unique and loving way of thinking. He was one of the first people I confided in that I was proposing to my girlfriend,  now wife... he was there when I accepted my new job in Cincinnati and he told me that he was proud of me, even though he was sad to see me leave. He will live on through the impact he had on BBYO'ers and everyone he spoke to. He will be missed and loved. His memory is a blessing for all that have it.

We are very sorry. Jeff and Dave knew each other since Junior High, and our sons knew him in BBYO. Please accept our deepest sympathy. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
