

David Loney passed away at the age of 81 on December 1, 2024, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Born on January 31, 1943, in Ravenna, Ohio David was widely admired for his intelligence, kindness, generosity, and compassion throughout his life.
David proudly served in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he completed his undergraduate degree at Kent State University and his law degree at Cleveland State University College of Law. He was a contract manager at Argo Tech and then at Eaton Corporation in Cleveland.
David leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Dr. Donna K. Rumenik, his cherished daughter Sarah J. Loney (Denise Garcia), his “brother” Tony Graser, brother-in-law Michael Rumenik (Terry), as well as cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Catherine Lustritz Loney, and his sister Martha L. Chionchio.
David was an avid reader of history and science fiction. He was a backyard birder and loved dogs, including especially his dog, Preshey.
A ceremony honoring David's life, including military and religious honors, was held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Congregation Mishkan Or in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
