

She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Greenberg, her parents, Fannie and Sam, and her brother-in-law, Harvey Simon. Those mourning Dory’s passing include her sister, Eileen Simon, children, Laura Anthony (Jay) and Steve Greenberg (Lori), granddaughter, Gillian, sister-in-law, Charleen Factor (Sol), nieces/nephews, Rachel Simon (Chaya), Adam Simon (Becky), Lisa Konover (Ilan) and Scott Factor (Sarah), as well as the many friends and caregivers who enriched her life.
Dory grew up in Euclid and developed a love of French culture while studying abroad at the Sorbonne-University of Paris. After graduation, she moved to Lyndhurst, taught French in Mayfield Heights and spent many vacations traveling with her family, often to French speaking countries.
In addition to travel, Dory and her husband enjoyed Broadway musicals, doting on their beloved granddaughter, and the time they spent as Florida snowbirds.
Dory was a volunteer, an avid reader, and the embodiment of the French phrase, “joie de vivre” (joy of living). In recognition of her love of all things French, those who wish to honor Dory’s memory can make a donation in lieu of flowers to La Maison Française.
Funeral services for Doris will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 S Taylor Rd, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44118 on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
