

Edward (Ted) Andelman passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on March 16, 2025. Born in Boston, MA, Ted was a proud graduate of Syracuse University, 1949. Ted moved to Toledo Ohio, where he met his wife Jeanne, to whom he was married for 56 years, and got his start in the insurance industry. In the early 1950's, Ted and Jeanne moved to Cleveland, where they raised their family. Ted became a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and enjoyed a long career with the Bercu Insurance Agency and its successor companies. After retiring, Ted and Jeanne moved to Bonita Springs, FL, where they found a community of friends and delighted in hosting family for fantastic vacations. In addition to spending time with his family, Ted was a voracious reader and loved travel, golfing, swimming and playing bridge.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter; Barbara Andelman (Richard Hal Nemeth), his grandchildren; Abbey Grodin Greenfield (Nick Greenfield), Alex Grodin (Kali Grodin), Jackson Nemeth, Monica Nemeth, great-grandchildren; Lincoln Greenfield, Reese Grodin, Mattie Grodin, Clark Grodin. He was preceded in death by his parents; Maurice and Jean Andelman, his loving wife; Eleanor Jeanne Andelman, his sister Charna Lewis, and his beloved daughter; Leslie Grodin (Bill Grodin. Andrea Kanter Grodin).
Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery Cleveland, OH.
Friends are welcome to join family to celebrate Ted's life on Thursday, April 10 6-8 pm at the home of Abbey and Nick Greenfield, 3024 Fontenay Road, Shaker Heights OH. Friends who wish may contribute to Planned Parenthood or Syracuse University.
