Ernest Molner, a dedicated musician and entertainer, passed away last week at the age of 75. Throughout his life, he was a loving son to his parents, Ernest and Elma, especially in their later years when they faced health challenges.
A passionate drummer and percussionist since the age of 15, Ernest founded the High Society Band and played in several others, including Swing Time Big Band, across Northeast Ohio. He adored traveling, especially on cruises with his wife, Jodi, and was known for his culinary skills, particularly his Passover seders.
Ernest grew up and spent his entire life in the same house, graduating from Heights High in 1969. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Jodi; his son, Cory (Scott Zolkowski); Jodi’s sisters, Heidi (John Albrecht) Sorin, Tamar (Marc Alter) Sorin, and Pamela Sorin; as well as his nieces Jordan Alter-Sorin and Devon Took and nephews Sean and Kyle Barger.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 26th at 2:00 pm at the Berkowitz Kumin Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 S. Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights.
Shiva will be at the Molner residence, 3038 Kensington Road, Cleveland Heights, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and on Friday from 1:00pm until 5:00pm.
