Eugene Gordon

April 24, 1928 – July 28, 2024

Eugene M. Gordon, beloved husband of the late Eileen Gordon (nee Israel), loving father of Stephanie (Steve Daly), Keith (Cheri), and Marc (Diane), devoted grandfather of Rachel Hobbs, Jeremy Daly, Evan Gordon, Emma Gordon and Jackie Gordon, and great-grandfather of Samuel Hobbs.

Eugene passed away peacefully in Beachwood, Ohio, on July 28, 2024, at the age of 96. He graduated with a degree in accounting from Miami University of Ohio. Eugene married Eileen Israel in 1951. They had a loving and happy marriage for the next 71 years until Eileen's death. He and Eileen travelled the world together.

Eugene was a very successful salesman for Consumers Steel Company, where he worked almost all of his life. He was an avid and competitive bridge player, a game in which his prodigious memory served him well. He enjoyed physical activity, which may have contributed to his longevity. After retirement in 2000, Eugene was a faithful volunteer at the Great Lakes Science Center. He was particularly well known for his twice-weekly demonstrations of the wonders of bubbles. He received the volunteer of the year award for his many years of excellent service to the Science Center.

Services will be private. The family requests no visitation at this time.
