Deepest sympathies to Cheryl and Paul as they look back on a full year since Jared's passing.  I knew Jared for a few years, when he was still so young, as his first music teacher (recorder).  We had fun! Can't say Jared was a budding, musical genius, but he smiled like few ever do.  He was always smiling. We always had such a fun lesson.  And I was so moved to see what a strong family he had; they were such a trio...and so sad Jared has left them, and us.  Will add a photo.  Forget me, I just happen to be in it, but there is Jared, smile (well, okay, he can't really smile when he is playing a recorder), recorder, and all.

My deepest sympathy to Jared's Mom and Dad.  Jared and I met on Kefiada, spending a summer together in Beit Shean, Israel.  We immediately connected, sharing similarities of adventure, having fun whatever we were doing, and living in the moment.  Jared was a true friend, compassionate, giving, supportive, and selfless.  After that summer we remained friends in the States and being an avid traveler and curious wanderer, I appreciated the connection even more as we were both moving around and could share stories.  Jared is someone I think of often as I live abroad and wish I could share what I'm seeing, smelling, hearing, feeling....he always cared, wanted to know more, and smiled.  Jared, thank you for being you.

Jared, you are missed every day, and hearing of this world losing you is devastating and unfair. You were a kind soul, and the kind of person everyone wanted to be like, and be near. You will always be my 1st love, and knowing you and sharing in your world for the time we had will always be one of my most special memories. 

To Paul and Cheryl, my heart breaks for you, and please know, everyone your son touched was a better person after.

Jared -I will miss your unsatiated thirst for knowledge and learning, your curiousity of new cultures and people, and your amazing capability to accept everyone as they are. 

You will be sorely missed here.  I think you are now living the next great adventure though in peace and joy.

This does not seem right. You know I love to write as you did. I loved writing your Bar Mitzvah Candle Lighting Ceremony, funny poems etc. but I do not know what to say now except that you were greatly loved by your parents and all the people that you touched during your all too short life. You were a "mench" in the true sense of the word. Roy and I will miss you a lot and we will always treasure our fond memories of time spent with you. You will always have a special place in our hearts but right now our hearts are broken. Rest in peace dear Jared.

Jared, you would think that words would come easy for me with all the writing I do. But, there are no words that truly comfort, only tears and heartache and knowing that you are safe and not in pain. Sometimes it's not until someone is gone that they are truly appreciated. In your case, this is not true. You were loved, respected, and appreciated probably much more than you realized. My deepest heartfelt sympathy to you Cheryl and your family.  The loss of a child is the most tragic.  I've only talked with you by phone when I call for the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center but could tell by your voice the warm and loving person/mother you are. Everyone loved Jared wherever he went. Jared was fiercely loyal and was always there for his friends. We were good friends since 4th grade - went to elementary, middle school, and college together. He was a trendsetter, especially with regards to fashion. Jared was an intellect - an excellent writer - the first person in the state of North Carolina to receive a Fellowship in the Foreign  language and Area Studies Program for his studying of Tamil, one of the hardest languages in the world to learn. Jared was adventurous and bold and not afraid to follow his own path. He will be remembered and missed dearly by his friends and family.

Paul and Cheryl, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

I first met Jared in English class during our Sophomore year at University School.  I remember my first thought was that Jared was an incredibly talented writer and critical thinker.  It was only later that we would realize we had numerous mutual friends.  We went to Miami University and remained in the same group of friends.

I have many fond memories of Jared during high school, in the summers between college and during college.  Knotty Pine, Papa John's, Eilat, prom and graduation nights, to name a few.

Jared will be remembered fondly by many and will be missed.  He had a zest for life, a laugh, and an imagination unlike anybody.  Alav Hashalom.  Rest in peace, Jared.

My first impression of him was during our English class and I remember recalling that he was an extremely talented writer and critical thinker.  At first, neither of us realized that we had numerous mutual friends.  After graduation, we would both go to Miami University where we would be in the same circle of friends.

I specifically recall many fun times together during Senior year of high school, the summers in between college and at Miami.  Knotty Pine, Papa John's, prom night and graduation night.  There are numerous other fun memories.

Jared had an incredible zest for life, imagination, and sense of humor.  He will be missed.  Alav Hashalom.  Rest in peace, Jared.

My heart is so sad, but I will always love and remember Jared as Ian's first and best friend 30 years ago,and the many hours they logged playing in your basement. He was a beautiful son, and friend, and human being.My sympathies dear friends<3
