
John I. Klein, age 84, of Shaker Heights, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015. He was born to Blanche and Ben Klein on February 5,1931. John graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and attended The Ohio State University where he won the William Randolph Hearst national award for investigative reporting on the John Birch Society. John began his career as V.P. of The Gas House, a family owned business. He continued his career at Penton Publishing as editor of Precision Metal Magazine. In 1972 he established John Klein and Associates, a direct marketing company. He continued doing business up until his death. John was past president of DMA of Northeast Ohio direct marketing association where he was recognized with their Hall of Fame award. John was an active member of the Jewish Secular Community for over 45 years. He was active for many years in the Western Reserve Biking Club. He is a board member of the North Union Farmers Market. He enjoyed photography, traveling, antiquing, biking, taking spontaneous long drives in the country and most of all spending time with his wife , Linda. Johnny was the most caring and warm-hearted man and everyone who knew him, loved him. He was always the eternal optimist. He had an adventurous spirit and a loving and extraordinary positive nature. He was incredibly proud of his family. No one will miss him more than his dearest wife and "bestest" friend of almost 53 years, Linda (nee Zimmerman). Loving father of Steven (Maureen) Klein, Daniel (Pat) Klein, Debra (Jim Stefanchik) Klein, Michael Klein and Joe (aka Douglas Klein) Solo. Devoted grandfather of Jordan, Jesse, Abie, Zak, Tammy and Donyae. Dear brother of Josef Klein and the late Spencer Klein. Services will be held Thursday, December 24 at 10:30 AM at the BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL,1985 S. Taylor Rd., Cleveland Heights, OH. Interment Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the residence 3329 Clayton Blvd., Shaker Heights, OH THURSDAY FOLLOWING SERVICES UNTIL 5 PM, THURSDAY EVENING 7 PM-9 PM, FRIDAY 1 PM-5 PM.
