

He was a highly respected real estate, corporate, and tax attorney who started his law firm, Kalk and Valore that served our community for several decades.
He accomplished a feat that few ever have done; earned the status of Valedictorian of his high school (Canton McKinley), college, (Case Western Reserve University) and law school (also Case Western Reserve University).
Joseph was very community minded and served on the Board of Directors of the Montefiore Home (now part of King David), and was involved with the old Mt. Sinai Hospital, and Jewish Federation of Cleveland. He was also a past President of the Beachwood Arts Council and Young People’s Congregation of the former Fairmount Temple.
Joseph loved cruising around the world with his beloved wife, Phyllis (z”l), visiting Pittsburgh to see Amy and family, and attending all sporting events that his grandchildren participated in.
He is survived by his son Dan (Amy) Kalk, and daughter Amy (Robert) Gold. Cherished grandfather of Richard (Amy) Kalk, Lindsey (Curtis) Earich, Mollie Kalk, David Kalk, Jess (MK Davis) Gold, and Jake (Morgan) Gold. Great-grandfather of Hunter Kalk, Declan Earich, and Asher Gold.
Private family services were held. Family requests no visitation at this time.
