Laurence Joel Davis passed away on February 5, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Deena Davis, with whom he shared 20 years of marriage, preceded by a 10-year courtship that reflected their deep love and devotion to one another.
A longtime resident of Cleveland, Ohio, Larry remained single until marrying Deena at the age of 61 on June 25, 2006, a fact that often delighted those who knew him and spoke to his belief that love arrives exactly when it’s meant to.
Larry was a devoted and loving stepfather to Stacey Singer (Karen) and Tara Wieghat, and an adoring Papa to Riley and Elliot Wieghat, roles he cherished deeply. He was the beloved son of the late Natalie and Sidney Davis, a loving brother to Jeffrey Davis (Rooter), Barbara Rothman (Don), and Robin Marks (Bruce), and a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, Larry attended The Ohio State University, and, until his retirement in 2016 to Bonita Springs, Florida, was Vice President of Mill Hardware, a Cleveland company that distributed replacement parts for restaurant equipment.
Larry loved golf both for the sport and for the friendships he built on the green. Over the years, he proudly achieved three holes-in-one, including an especially memorable 165-yard shot on December 8, 2023, on the 8th hole at Bonita National Golf Club. In recent years, Larry and Deena made their home on the 14th hole at Bonita National, where he found daily joy living surrounded by the game he loved and delighted in seeing his golf buddies play through.
Larry will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity, his sharp sense of style, his brilliant mind for Bridge, and his remarkable gift for numbers and spelling. The relationships he built, the values he lived by, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Funeral services will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel in Cleveland Heights at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Interment will be at Mt.
