I was so saddened to hear about Lois.  She worked along side me at Agnon for many years.  She was the loveliest person...so sweet and caring..  I will carry such fond memories of her forever.   Please know how much I care.        Fondly, Lynne Rudolph

Our family fondly remembers Lois as a teacher of our children when they attended Agnon School.  She was the perfect teacher--enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and just the right amount of patience.
She made a difference in our lives and those of our children who were her students.

Wonderful memories of my 3rd grade year (2003-2004) at Agnon, where Lois taught along with Sherry Rotz and Betti Buck. I learned to appreciate all types of poetry (from a “spreadable” poem to a limerick). I loved it when she read Judy Moody to the class during “read aloud.” Lois was the first one to teach us multiplication, using worksheets like “Keeping Up With the ‘Times.’” I will never forget a science lesson where she gave us lightbulbs, wires, and batteries, and challenged us to make a complete circuit—brilliant, it worked! And, for those of you who were there, the Dunkleosteous and multiplication matrix projects were unforgettable. When she introduced Andrew Clements to us, I remember taking a liking to Frindle, which I read many times in the following years. Lois made reading fun, and this was a lifelong lesson for me. On a field trip to the Western Reserve Historical Society, the students were suddenly scared when a spider crawled across the floor. Without hesitation, she took off her shoe and solved the problem. After that, she was always “Super Lois” to me! Two years earlier, in first grade, we first learned about Jacob selling his birthright for lentil soup. I remember our class taking a walk down the hall to Lois’ room. Sure enough, there she was, cooking lentil soup in a huge pot, to make the Bible story a reality for us. The last time I saw Lois was in 2007. I ran into her at Montefiore during a performance by comic Rabbi Bob Alper. She recognized me instantly and we were delighted to see each other. Looking back, I  so much appreciate Lois’ devotion to teaching and her love for the students. May her memory be for a blessing. 

Lois was my 2nd grade teacher 30 years ago and while my memories from that young are few, I remember Lois being a very kind and warm teacher. Years later when i ran into her she was the same, caring and kind, happy and warm. My sincere condolences. She was a special lady.

20 years ago I had the privilege of teaching alongside Lois in the third grade at Agnon School. Though I had come to Agnon with nearly 10 years of teaching in a public school system, I learned how students could think and learn through hands-on experiences -by watching Lois teach. It was a “master course”, taught by a master teacher. Unfortunately we only worked together for 4 years, as layoffs were implemented. I was fortunate to get a third grade job at a nearby private school.
There were so many opportunities to now use what Lois had shown me. I am forever grateful that Lois was the kind, intelligent, creative mentor teacher to me at Agnon School. 

To Lois’ children and grandchildren:  I want you to know that Lois touched so many students, as well as colleagues in her years in the classroom. She was most proud of her family and enjoyed sharing pictures and stories of her kids.

It is with great sadness that I am sending this message today... The last time I saw Lois was 5 years ago we got together with the old gang at Barbra Weiss house it was great... I worked with Lois  at Agnon school and her classroom was right next to the kitchen for a 
number of years... we saw each other daily and  she came to the kitchen every morning ..  she was such a lovely person...
Please accept my sincere sympathy and love...❤.

Lois was a wonderful and loving teacher and friend to our 3 children - Josh, Zach & Naomi Worthington.  We trusted her knowledge and intuition.  I'm sure she touched the lives of many Agnon students.

The Levin family sends you our heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your beloved Lois. She was our beloved Lois too during the many years she taught at Agnon.  In particular, she was deeply loved by our oldest child, Rebecca, on who Lois had a profound influence. Dear Klapholz family. Sending love, support, and condolences upon the loss of your beloved mother, sister, and grandmother. Although I haven’t lived in Cleveland for many years, I have wonderful memories of the years that Lois and I spent together at Agnon teaching. She was a wonderful friend……. Not only were we friends in school, but we had formed a beautiful social group of friends and I have memories of many times spent with Lois and Shelly throughout the years. So sorry for your loss.
