Marilyn was the warmest, most talented, most brilliant, most creative, most encouraging, most compassionate trainer/physical therapist her patients/clients ever had. She was innovative, insightful and constantly worked at figuring out how she could help us even more. When I would arrive for an appointment, she'd invariably say "Let's try something new" or "I have another way we can approach" dealing with the pain or the limitation or the whatever. She never gave up trying to find a better or more effective treatment plan. At the same time, we shared our lives, our stories, our hopes and dreams for our children.
Her memory will indeed be a blessing for everyone she loved and touched. And, we shall all miss her dearly.

I am so sorry to hear about Marilyn's passing. She was so generous and kind to my husband and I in the start of our marriage. We will never forget what she did for us and will miss her deeply.

Dear Nana,
Well as I sit here I hear the fighter jets fly overhead. It feels so appropriate the the world is upsidedown.  Our world has ended because you are not in it. So it seems right that the entire world is going crazy.  Our hearts are going crazy.  How can there be a world without you in it?!  You, who taught everyone around you the meaning of what family means.  Family meant the most to you out of everything.  You welcomed me, and everyone - nieces, friends, acquaintances - as family and then stuck by us and protected us and would move the world for us.  You showed us by example of what it means to care for family, taking care of your parents and living your life around their every need.  You, who even though we lived in Israel, made sure to make us so intertwined in your life that we didn’t feel the distance.   You, who took care of so many of your friends along the way, showing us how to turn friends into relationships that feel like family.  You made everyone part of your family.  You are the pillar of our family and the house is falling down.

Dear Nana,
I really liked it when you read us bedtime stories. You read it to us every night on facetime right before I went to sleep.  You always read us our favorite books and gave us options.  I really miss you and I love you.  And you are the best Nana ever.  You are so strong because you lifted weights and you fought being sick.  And you were so fun to play with.  I liked to play sheshbesh with you - you were so good at it and always won!  And of course playing with Freddy and Sam and you.  Freddy and SAm were so fun - and also Max and Buster.  I loved giving them hugs and they were so funny because they said funny stuff.  Nana you made the funny voices.  And I loved snuggling you Nana.  I would snuggle you at your house on the couch on Shabbat.  I would tell you about school and I loved playing Stratego at your house.  And Nana your matza ball soup is my favorite soup ever! And you always made chicken nuggets and it was my favorite!

I loved your food.  The schnitzel and the meatballs and the saucy things I liked.  I wish you could come to us. And I really liked your birthday cake.  I love your lego room in your house.  I love Freddy and Sam and I miss them.  I would snuggle them.  I liked snuggling Nana and I like the pink bed I slept in.  I hope you had a great life. I hope you now feel better.

You are a really good cook.  I love the poppyseed cake and matzah ball soup that you make.  
What can I say? I loved when you read us stories every night.  And when you got sick how we read to you.  And how we went every shabbat to you and I gave you a hug every time we went. And on your birthday when I gave you a letter and picture and you smiled.  And I remember on Halloween we stopped by and we all took a picture with you. And how we played Freddy and Sam with you.  And me and Davi and Coby made a show for you with Freddy and Sam. And when we came when I was little you played school with Freddy and Sam and I thought they were actually talking because I didn’t know - and I was like “is this real or is this fake?” and I thought the dolls were actually real.  I don’t remember the last time we went to America but I do remember when you came to visit us and took us to Tel Aviv.  There were two times.  One time we stayed in Hanky’s building.  You took us to a park and we played with fake bicycles.  And I remember in the other time and I woke up  and I said good morning Nana Banana and you didn’t like that name.  You took us to Kalahari and now it’s my favorite place.  One time you came and took us to Netanya and we stayed in a hotel and at the top of the hotel there was a pool and I was 5 and the lifeguard made me wear a diaper! And I love pesach with you, especially the matzah ball soup because it is my favorite.  And I remember visiting Zaidy with you.  And I love you so much.  And what else can I say? You are the best Nana ever.

What sad news about Marilyn's passing.  I remember her from YABI where we were in the same class.  We went to shul there on Shabbos and to Bnei Akiva together on Shabbos afternoons.  I remember her as Miriam Schuster.  She was always fun to be with.  May she rest in peace, may her family be consoled among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, and may Moshiach come now.  Only good news from now on for your whole family and for all Jews worldwide.

A truer friend you couldn't find.Marilyn help cheer up my late wife  during her illness with pancreatic cancer! Miriam was the most spirited, lively and fun person that I first met when I came to Cleveland. Her smile could light up a room. She will always live in my heart forever.
