

Marvin graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and pursued higher education at The Ohio State University. During his college years, he met Frances Duchon, the love of his life. Marvin and Frances recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on January 2, a remarkable milestone that reflected their enduring bond and devotion.
He is survived by his beloved wife Frances; son Terry Bauer and his wife Bonnie; daughter Wendy Epstein; grandchildren Stephanie Bauer Oppenheimer and her husband Johnston Oppenheimer, Amanda Bauer Dearie and her husband Donald Dearie, Alexander Epstein, and Sabrina Epstein. Marvin was also blessed with five great-grandchildren—Will, Sutton, Francie, Donnie, and Annie—who brought him immense joy. He is further survived by his brother Morris Bauer and wife Arlene. Marvin was predeceased by his daughter Tracy and his parents, Florence and Sam Bauer.
Marvin had a zest for life that shone through in his love of travel with Frances and their family. A passionate sports enthusiast, he was a lifelong fan of Ohio State football and the Cleveland Indians. His enthusiasm later extended to Alabama football as two of his granddaughters became proud graduates of the University of Alabama. Marvin’s warmth and joy left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the cherished memories shared by his family and friends. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
A Chapel service will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel 1985 South Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, 44118 on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 1:30PM PM ET.
