Dolly and kids, we all still miss you and from our point of view, it will always be Norman's gardens. He gave so much to the neighborhood and is still missed every day.

More than a great neighbor, Norm was and will remain an institution here in our little corner of Shaker Heights.  I will FOREVER miss stepping outdoors to the sight of his neighborly wave and gorgeous yard, the potential treat of one of our impromptu chats on the sidewalk, or a tour of the mini-Eden that was his backyard.  He literally made the neighborhood a more welcome and beautiful place with his lavish gardens, neighborly warmth, and contagious energy – not to mention his generous habit of tidying many of our sidewalk edges well into his 90’s.  My son's interest in cultivating orchids and my daughter’s succulent collection are almost certainly partly a result of Norm’s grandfatherly influence and evidence of his enduring legacy.  Neither Norm, nor his gardens, nor the blue (Bonneville?) convertible rides will EVER be forgotten by anyone in our family!  All our love and comfort to Dolly and the whole extended Sigel family.

So many great memories of being together with you in Cleveland, The Bahamas, Snowmass and Beaver Creek.  Rest in peace Norman.  Love to you all.

After watching Norman’s funeral service (twice), I just felt compelled to submit another message online.
The eulogies really were heartfelt and beautiful.
I learned so much about the two of you and your loving family.
Other family and friends have posted amazing online tributes, personal stories and “history.”
Our interactions on Euclid Two were so brief, but in that short time, I could easily feel the love and affection that surrounded you.
May Norman’s life be a blessing for ALL of us.

Menorah Park

I was lucky enough to meet Norman and Dolly while traveling with Eric in Cambodia in 2002.  It was a beautiful rememberance of him today.  What a special man.

Norm was a wonderful friend and neighbor.  As a teenager I babysat often for Eric and Glenn and he would always walk me home even though I lived across the street.  He gave me my first raise which delighted me.  His yard was always lovingly landscaped and he enjoyed sharing it with everyone.  His greatest joy, though, was his family.   He always shared stories of them when I was visiting my parents on Warrington.

I am so very sorry to learn of Norm’s passing. You both were  Erv’s and my oldest friends and i remember  Norm being in our wedding in 1958. 
 You both are the nicest and kindest persons i have ever known.

Dear Dolly and family-   We were so privileged to get to know and spend time with you and Norman!  Whether visiting your garden or enjoying your stops at Sheila and Ivan's house when we were in town- it always brought joy to our hearts. Uncle Norman was my favorite uncle. He was the fun uncle that new how to lighten up the room and offer you a cocktail when you would come over to his beautifully decorated home from his travels with Aunt Dolly. We would appreciate each others talents. His was his passion for garden design that got a lot of recognition from other people and magazines .  He appreciated my paintings on canvas. We had that bond of creativity and aesthetics and the love of beautiful things. I loved that he knew how to enjoy life with friends , family, boating , gardening and music. I’m sure so much more but i would be writing for hours. I love you Alays Uncle Norman . I will never forget you and keep you alive in my great memories you imprinted in my mind. You will be greatly missed by all that knew you. Your neice, Roz

From Amsterdam, sending most sincere condolences to the entire Sigel family.  Uncle Norman  z.l.  will always be remembered as a joyous, warm and loving man.  His presence and glorious happiness at Sarit and Eric's wedding was like a heartfelt embrace for all of us.  
May the family know no more sorrow, and may his memory continue to be a blessing.

When we first moved to Shaker 20 some years ago, I came home from work to find out that he had loaded up my kids in his convertible and taken them for ice cream at Shaker Square because my 7 year old son liked his car.  I also recall countless garden consultations on the sidewalk each spring.  We knew it was spring when we could hear Norm’s edger coming down the street.  Rip Norm.  We miss you already.

Our most sincere  sympathy to you and your family upon the passing 
of your Husband.  Although we knew him very briefly, it was our pleasure to have met him.  You are  in our deepest thoughts.

     Our condolences to Dolly and Norm's family.  We are sad to hear this news.  Norm was a wonderful neighbor with a beautiful garden that was the highlight of the block we shared.  His love for his garden was what I think kept him young.  He set the bar very high with his thoughtful plantings.  I am glad he had time to enjoy his work. Since we moved away 7 years ago, I miss his personalize tour of his garden.
