Steve Spiegle, age 82, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024. Dearly beloved husband of Bonnie (née Adelman); loving father of Scott (Shani), and Jamie Spiegle; absolutely adored and adoring grandfather of Sam and Jack. Brother of Charles (Patti); and friend to many.
Born May 2, 1942, to Margaret and Justin Spiegle, Steve graduated from Cleveland Heights High School, received a BA from Miami University, and an MBA from Western Reserve University. He was a financial advisor for 57 years at Merrill Lynch with a work ethic second to none.
A lifelong Indians fan and season ticket holder, he lived his dream of attending a World Series game in Cleveland with his kids and grandkids. The beloved Cleveland sportswriter Hal Lebovitz published a story about Steve’s passion for minor league baseball and his many travels with his family to minor league parks. Steve was a longtime panelist on Les Levine’s More Sports and Les Levine radio show.
Steve was an ardent and involved supporter of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, FIDF, JCC Maccabi Games, Camp Wise, Elon University Hillel, Tour of Good Cheer, and his beloved Fairmount Temple.
A great lover of travel both home and abroad, his favorites were going to his grandsons’ JCC Maccabi games, Indians Spring Training in Tucson, and backroad driving trips experiencing smalltown America.
But above all, Steve was the ultimate family man and mensch of all mensches. He was truly loved by all who knew him.
