STEVEN HOWARD SLIVE, age 67, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2017 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Steve was a dedicated father, partner, friend, lawyer and comedian, and he will be missed by the many people he has touched. Steve was born in New York on July 1, 1950 to Jean Blatt Slive and Theodore Slive. Steve attended Ohio University and graduated from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Steve started out as a volunteer attorney at The Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland, and ultimately founded a small private law firm, Slive & Slive, where he worked with Harriet Slive to counsel and represent hundreds of people. Steve never met a stranger and loved to strike up conversations with every type of person he encountered. Steve was also a comedian who got great joy in making others smile and laugh. He was a music lover and was constantly captivated by the beauty in our natural world. Steve is survived by his daughters, Casey Slive and Lauren Slive Gennett, his mother Jean Slive, brothers Philip Slive and David Slive, girlfriend Carol Anne Cohen, and many other family members and friends who loved Steve deeply.
