Grandma Sue. Words cannot express the bond we shared. You used to say, “If you’re ok, I’m ok.” We lived together , we were neighbors, best friends, and a beautiful amazing person that showed real unconditional love. I know that you are in a better place,  however I miss you snd Papa Jerry so much. What’s gift the Lord bestowed upon me to grow up spending time with you. I still really miss you. I know that you are watching over the family from Heaven. 

Since you have been gone. Things have not been the same. They never will be. However you showed me that keeping busy, and pursuing life long learning are the keys to happiness. Everyone here said such kind words. I could go on and on. We all love you and miss you Grandma Sue.

As the two mark for my mother’s passing it has been a reflective time.
In my father’s passing last year, I have come to the realization that I am their only legacy.
For only children, which I never believe anyone should have , is lifetime changing event when  both parents pass.
Our lives as only children end. We cannot sit back with siblings and talk about incidents with mom and dad. Other families with brothers and sisters, never really end their family. They haveeach other. Spouses and born children are not the same , as brothers and sisters to reminisce about mom and dad.
My mother was a passionate person highly devoted to her sister  whom she loved more than anyone else and her sister who loved her just as much. My mother adored and loved deeply her older brother, and her former husband.
I learned a lot from my mother, not by her verbal teachings, that she did not do, but by actions. 
It took me a full year to fully understand my mother’s passing in the sense that I never had conversations with her on meaningful topics. We shared basic communication that was respectful from daughter to mother.
If I wanted to touch on other areas, my mother found it disrespectful and became angry.
I learned that I can have unfinished business with my mother, and still have respect for her as a mother.
I work hard daily not to harbor that inflexibility she had . I do work hard at trying to be as loving as she was to family members.
My mother was well read, intellectually curious and chose her words eloquently.
I hope her friends and family remember her yearly with a warm thought.
To all that have lost a parent, sibling, spouse or anyone, we all share a date in time  that has us reflecting  about the limits of time we have with those people.
As you read this, think of Sue as you glance at your NY times, if you receive that, your dining room , as Sue was known for  appointed parties, and hug  your brothers and sisters.
We know that is what she wanted from life.

I had the pleasure of meeting sue 35 years ago at tano’s salon and had been doing her hair for 33 years! We shared a lot of stories with each other, I had the pleasure of  meeting  Annie and her kids as well! She was always kind and pleasant to have in my chair weekly! I may not have known you, yet I was told so many memories. How much you love so many people.  Nick loves you with his whole heart, and when he spoke of you, he showed me how deeply he loves you.
I feel that I know you and so grateful for the wonderful stories.

My Aunt Sue was the queen of entertainment- I learned so much from her- especially in the art of garnishing!  She was so elegant and eloquent in everything that she did.  Growing up, I always looked forward to seeing her and loved watching the interactions between her, my Aunt Maizie, and my father Leonard, when we visited from New York.  The banter was always fun to watch, as if they were transformed to their younger days.  Aunt Sue was always interested in everyone’s life, the good , the bad, and sometimes the horrific.  She always had something wonderful to say that made any situation so much more palatable. I will miss 
her phone calls and updates as well as her always upbeat way of looking at life.  May her memory be for a blessing to all that had the privilege and honor of knowing her.  She certainly will be missed.  Sending all of our love !

I feel so sad  and broken hearted about the passing of Sue. She was a most special person who was so caring and loving to many. She was a most special friend of my fathers who treasured her as such a close friend. I feel awful that I lost touch with her these  past few years but she will always be remembered by me and my family as a  class lady in every way and a true gift of a person. I pray she is at peace and with those that preceded her to Heaven.  Today is my dads birthday so hopefully they are celebrating. With love to her family,

Sometimes the world blesses us with special people.
They live their life with a certain grace and dignity, making them impervious to their surroundings, no matter how good or bad.
The sincerity of their heart can be felt not only by the generosity of their deeds, but by the utter kindness of their soul.
That was my Aunt Sue.
And while her passing is sad, we should take joy in knowing that for some, the special....this world is just a temporary stop on a larger journey.
It is with great pride and gratitude that I was able to have her as my "Aunt Sue."  I will miss her dearly.  

We went on trips together to New York.  To Chautauqua  a number of times.  I wet to home every Sunday for dinner. She was like a sister a friend.  I adored her. She was so so smart.  I have beautiful memories. She helped me when I was editor of a speech magazine.   
  I will miss her Annie keep in touch please. Carol gold. Jen and Dana 

Annie, Maizie, and Family:

Annie, you and your mom have always been a most integral part of my life. There are so few people whom I can trace back to the beginning of the memories of my life as a young child growing up just a few blocks away from all of you on Lomond.   Sue touched me from such an early age starting around six or seven years old embracing me as if I was one of her own; but she did that with all of the kids because that’s who she was.  Sue’s kindness, warmth, smile, and love were infectious.   I have volumes of memories of being with all of you and all touched by Sue. She will truly be an angel that we will sorely miss on this earth.  May her memory be a blessing for all whom she touched. 

In addition to what I already wrote. She told me how much she loved each of her grandchildren.  We had this conversation when she fell in class and had to go to the hospital.

I remember Suzanne from the JCC. We would attend the exercise classes. She was a brilliant woman and I will always remember her talking with such love about her granddaughter.
