Missing you, dear Tom.  It's hard to believe you've been gone 4 yrs.  Way too soon.  Our memories of you will last forever, because you are unforgettable!

Is it possible that a year has gone by already?  Tom is a one-of-a-kind person, who remains in our hearts and mind always.  Just saying his name brings up so many great experiences with him - Miami University, a friendship that began there and has lasted forever.  He was one of the dearest friends of my husband, Lenny, and  through him, Tom became one of my dearest friends.  He and our daughter share the same birthday.  Everytime I look at my engagement ring, or the other pieces of Jewelry I have from him,  I think of him and his parents.  I miss you, Tom.  I hear your deep voice, I see your awesome smile, and you will remain with me forever.

I remember Tom from when we were kids on Belvoir Blvd.  He was a good friend.  My deepest condolences.  

Tom's death came as a shock to me.  Looking back, it feels as though the energy of a thousand lights has disappeared from the Shaker Heights universe.  Yet, a memory of a certain amount of kindness, concern and hope remains, as I recall a couple of coffee outings with Tom after my hip operation two years ago.  Tom had also had a hip operation, and he and I compared notes.  He spiced up a medical conversation with news of his service to military vets, his volunteer work at League Park, and his work with the elderly.  I know he is looking down from above on all who cared so much for him, telling us to keep going, to follow our dreams, to live life, and just to  "Play ball!"  Go with God, Tom.  You  will be missed.

Matt Ben and family.        Tommy will be remembered as a loving kind giver. During these past several years we enjoyed many talks and he was always interested in others and their lives. He was a peach of a guy. Please know we Shyatt’s are a call away anytime for anything.

On June 27, 2021, Elaine Hibshman and I had the greatest of pleasure and I believe a true honor of sitting on each side of Tom Fuerst at dinner, for a 51st wedding anniversary of a dear friend.  Not one moment of at least 2 hours went by that wasn’t gracious, interesting, fun, sweet, kind and joyful. My husband Jim and his friends have always spoken of Tom with such affection, concern, and I do believe love. This is what I know to be true after my own 2 hours with Tom. His demeanor is impeccable. Gracious in all he says and the way he sits and moves and conversed with nonstop concern, interest, thoughtfulness and constantly so beautifully engaging. Any malady he had floated away. He was completely present and totally engaged. Elaine and I had the most wonderful dinner companion for that special evening. When Jim and I left at the end of the evening, I told him I now knew a bit of what he and his lifelong friends had been feeling all these years when they spoke of Tom Fuerst. When they worried about Tom Fuerst. When they each felt affection for this man. I now knew for myself that Tom Fuerst was the truest of gentlemen. That he openly shared his compassion for life and people. That Tom Fuerst had a great big open heart that he freely let scatter about like bright fireflies and alight inside your own heart. This was my two hours with your dearest Tom Fuerst. I believe he was a great gift given to us all.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing so many memories of living next door to you guys come back.  Please let me know if there is anything you need. May you find peace on your memories.

He has always been so kind and always there!  We will ALL miss him.

I was so saddened to hear of  your dad, Tom's  passing.  We shared a lot of years together working . He was the best boss I've ever had the pleasure of working with.  May his memory be eternal.  Rest in peace Tom.

Tom was always such a kind, good-hearted guy. We were so  very happy to see him just a couple weeks ago at a party. Sending our heartfelt condolences to  the Fuerst family

Shaker Youth Baseball League - SYBL owes Tom a debt gratitude for his dedication to developing the league in Shaker and working over the years to improve it. 
Tom’s passion for baseball was so evident.  He coached, was a longtime commissioner, and was an officer in the league. 
He loved nothing better than to watch ballplayers make great plays, hit the cover off the ball and get huge smiles on their face!  Baseball and the city of Shaker Hts. will miss You!
