Victor Lee Silverman, age 88, beloved husband for 62 years of Mary (nee Sutera). Loving father of Claudia (Randall Gephart) Silverman and Paula (Robert Wolff) Silverman. Devoted grandfather of Leah (Guy Ben-Ari) Wolff, Bethany (Hilry Hazelwood) Wolff, Max Wolff, Jack Gephart, and Joseph Gephart. Vic graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark, NJ and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving in the Signal Corps in WWII. He went on to graduate from University of California, Berkeley and achieved a Master’s Degree in History from Western Reserve University. Vic taught in the Lakewood Schools until retirement and served as the Lakewood Teachers’ Association president. He was respected for his commitment to peace and social justice and loved for his caring, inclusive nature. Private family services were held. Family will receive friends at the residence of Paula Silverman and Robert Wolff 21049 Shaker Blvd. Shaker Heights, OH 3PM to 8 PM Friday November 14.
