William Haas

Wil was born and raised in Cleveland, OH and graduated from Cleveland Heights High in 1940. He served in The Army Air Corp-South Pacific from 1943-1945, where he obtained the rank of 1st Lt.. Wil returned to Cleveland and continued his education graduating with a Law Degree from Western Reserve University in 1948 . Wil started his career as the Secretary/Treasurer in his family’s business, Downtown Chevrolet, where he worked side by side with his Dad and Brother from 1946-1965.. After the business was sold, Wil served as The Executive Vice President of Washington Federal Savings & Loan in University Heights, OH from 1965-1968. He joined the Financial Services industry in 1968 becoming a Senior Vice President with Morgan Stanley (and its predecessors) where he remained as a full time Senior Financial Advisor for 50+ years, until his death.

Wil prided himself on being an athlete and excelled in many sporting activities. He was an avid boater, enjoying boating at Cedar Point and The Yacht Racquet Club of Boca Raton. He loved scuba diving, waterskiing and anything to do with the water and bragged about his command of the Racquet Ball Court where he enjoyed many challenging games with his contemporaries and younger friends.

Wil is survived by his devoted wife; Sharon Rosselet Haas, his loving daughters; Wendy (Gary) Patterson, Lisa (Robby) Heiser and Gale Rosenthal, his grandchildren; Brian Patterson, Leslie (Billy Silverman) Patterson, and Joe Hamilton.

Wil is predeceased in death by his parents, Arthur and Edith Haas; brother, Melville; wife, June (Fuldauer) and daughters, Linda and Leslie.

Services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019, 11am at The Mayfield Mausoleum, 2749 Mayfield Rd Cleveland, OH 44106 with interment at Mayfield Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends, to Celebrate Wil’s life, at Beechmont Country Club, 29600 Chagrin Blvd Beachwood, OH, immediately following the interment until 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, the Family requests that contributions be made to a Charity of your Choice or to Trust Bridge Hospice of Boca Raton (Formerly known as Hospice by the Sea)
