Many who knew and cared for her loving referred to her as Linda, Wela Lela to her grandchildren and a second mother to all the neighborhood children. During her children’s elementary years, she spent many of her days volunteering at their schools’ to ensure their children’s school environment was safe & secure and further nurtured her relationships with her children and overall community. Linda was a true advocate for the school community working closely with local councilman for additional school crossing guards and Christmas give aways. All of her grandchildren had a unique nickname only called to them by their Lela.
Linda overcame many life obstacles and taught her children the importance of perseverance, love, family time, and never allowing anyone to cross your boundaries. Each year all of her children would expect an early morning call with her version of Marilyn Monroe’s Happy Birthday. Each day they would all wake up to a minimum of 10 social media reels about how much she loved them, they will dearly miss these daily reminders of her love.
Linda was a force to be reckoned with, her fierceness, tender care for her children and grandchildren and unforgettable laugh will be greatly missed. The void may never be filled but her spirit will live on forever with the legacy of lives she created during her lifetime.
Linda was a lively person; we ask all friends and family who join us in the celebration of her life to wear her favorite color royal blue and/or floral print.
