

Julia Hardley was born on August 4th, 1938, to parents Elnore and Arthur Jordan. She was raised to the Baptist Christian faith at an early age. She was the youngest of five siblings (Lois, Murdis, Gladys, and John) all deceased.
After graduating high school, she worked at Frigid Foods on Superior. Later she would meet and marry Jimmy Hardley while going to a Minor League Baseball game with friends.
With that union of 65 years, they produced three sons Curtis, Jimmy, Jr and Ricky. Like their parents they were raised in a Christian home. Her sons produce three grandchidren (Jimmy, Jr.: Juwan and Jamika)

When not going to East Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Mrs. Hardley enjoys traveling with friends, family and her husband. She loves going to casinos, cooking, and playing cards. Going to shows at the State Theater with her partner in crime Mozella to see BB King and Bobby Blue Bland, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Al Green. Afterwards, go out to dinner Country Buffett, Red Lobster or Golden Corral, Bob Evans or Olive Garden are some of her hangouts.
Mrs. Hardley loves watching her favorite shows such as Judge Judy, Oprah, Let’s Make a Deal, Password, and the Price is Right.
Mrs. Hardley enjoys her music. She loved and loved Aretha Franklin! She was also a big fan of Mahalia Jackson, Ray Charles, Solomon Burke, Sam Cooke and Shirley Caesar, and the Motown sound especially the Temptations, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles and the Supremes.
Mrs. Julia Hardley leaves behind her husband of 65 years, her three sons, her three grandchildren and great granddaughter, her niece’s: Gladys (BB) (d. Lisa and Lori), Marcella (h. George, d. Michelle & Theresa) Loretta and her nephews Eddie and Marcus (Bubba- Deceased) his widow Nicey.
Her brother and sister in-law: Robert Lee (d. Sabina)

Mrs. Hardley was a member of several churches Mt. Gillian, Sacrificial Baptist Church then later East Mt. Vernon Baptist Church
