Kelse David Hardrick, 48, of Warrensville Heights, Ohio, was born on February 19, 1975. Kelse David, affectionately known as KD da Barber, was born to Reverend Kelse and Mrs. Lucenthdries Hardrick, Jr. KD was the surprise of joy, as they moved to Warrensville Heights months prior to his birth.
During his early years, David was full of love and zeal for God. He attended East 105th Street Church of God in Christ under the pastorage of the late Bishop F.E. Perry. The Hardrick family went to church frequently, and David accepted The Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. He participated in various youth activities at church, including singing. He truly had a gift – his baritone voice was notable indeed. David was impressed with his church experience, and that showed in his family play. David’s first sermon was, “Don’t let the devil play tic tac toe with your mind.” He also re-enacted The Crucifixion of Christ with his teddy bear.
Family and neighborhood life was fun. David has many friendships that have lasted through the years of his life. Truly, in The Maze (Clarkwood Estates) the boys were occupied round the clock. At school and home David had a multitude of friends. At the end of every day David played hard!
David enjoyed junior and senior high as a Warrensville Heights wrestler. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of Club Legit. David had a talent for dancing/stepping. During these years, David became a father by blood and by love.
KD was licensed as a Master Barber for many years traveling nationally with great success and provided services to all ages. Many can say they met KD when they took their child for their first haircut.
Kelse David made the decision to go to the military in 1997. He served his country honorably and returned to civilian life in 2001. During his service in the United States Army, David met and married his wife and added to his family.
Kelse David was predeceased by his father Kelse Hardrick, Jr. Kelse leaves to honor his life, his wife, Sharise Hardrick, mother, Lucenthdries Hardrick, and children (of blood and love) Marcus, Akeira, Erik, Christopher, Myia, and Brianna, and eight grandchildren.
He also has siblings and godsister, Robert L. Hardrick, Dorothea G. Hardrick, and Sharee D. King, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is loved and will be missed by a host of family and friends.
Our family and community sadly lost an important member. KD was the heart and soul of many sections of people privately and publicly. He never knew a stranger, brought joy to many, and encouraged all.
Wake service will be Friday, August 11, 2023 at 6:00PM followed by Memorial service at 6:30PM all at Real Gospel Missionary Baptist Church 10900 Ravenna Road Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.
