Born in Milagro, Ecuador, to the late Nestor Rosero and Bertha Ortega, Luis carried with him the warmth, resilience, and spirit of his homeland throughout his life. He was the beloved husband of Grace Julieta Rosero (nee Rivas), with whom he shared a lifetime of devotion and companionship. He was the loving father of Alan Rosero (Angela), Bertha Rosero (Heriberto Rodriguez), and Grace Rosero; and the cherished grandfather of Manuel Rodriguez, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sasha Gutierrez. He was also a dear uncle to many and was preceded in death by his nine brothers and sisters, whose memories he carried close to his heart.
Luis lived with a quiet pride and a gentle dignity that touched everyone around him. He was a man who believed in presenting himself with care—always dressed neatly, wearing a favorite cologne, his watch, and his rings. These small rituals spoke to the great pride he took in life and in how he showed up for the people he loved.
A passionate soccer fan, he cheered for Brazil with unwavering excitement. He found joy in action movies and always appreciated a good laugh from a comedy. His love of disco music filled many days with rhythm and nostalgia.
But it was within his family where Luis’s heart truly shined. He adored his wife’s cooking, always savoring her meals with his beverage of choice, Coca-Cola, a simple pleasure that brought him so much happiness. He treasured his time with his granddaughter Sasha—Friday pick-ups from school, shared meals at McDonald’s or Boston Market, watching Norbit together weekend after weekend, and going swimming. These routines were small in the world but enormous in love, creating memories that will live on forever.
Though distance separated him from his grandchildren in Ecuador, his love never faltered. He stayed connected through frequent phone calls, always making sure they knew how deeply he cared. His daughter Bertha resides in Ecuador, and his son Alan lives in New Jersey. Luis was filled with joy whenever they came to visit, and nothing meant more to him than having his 3 children and his wife all together again—his cherished ‘core five.’
A devoted Christian man, Luis found strength, purpose, and community in his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Westlake. His faith guided him through life’s joys and challenges, and it sustained him as he faced his ailments with courage, grace, and unwavering determination. He truly fought a good fight until the very end.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a service at 7:00 PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 14768 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44111.
A funeral service will follow on Thursday at 4PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 25000 Westwood Rd., Westlake, OH 44145.
