She was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Ramon Rodriguez and Ernestina Figueroa. She is the loving mother of Elizabeth Rivera, Magdalena "Maggie" Rivera, Deliris “Deli” Morales, Viamaris "Mari" Morales and Juan Carlos Morales; cherished grandmother of Anastasia D. Martinez, Desiree E. Pena, Kayla M. Martinez, Anthony D. Rodriguez and Emilio S. Rivera; dear sister of Carmen Nieves, Iraida Rivera, Ramonita Rivera, Orlando Rivera, Julie Rivera, Juan Rivera, Jenny Rivera, Eva Rodriguez, Elias Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, David Rodriguez and Rosa Rodriguez; former wife and best friend of Juan Morales; adored aunt of many.
Magdalena cared deeply about helping others. She had a desire to take care of all and made a difference for many. She opened her home to anyone who needed warmth and consistently appreciated the best in humanity through compassion and understanding as she was quick to forgive. Her generous fierce spirit, strength, loyalty, and contagious laughter will continue to radiate in the lives of all who had the privilege to meet her. Maggie was a keeper of trinkets and could often be found at the neighborhood thrift store finding her next treasure. She loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking delicious meals for her family and friends. Unassumingly, Maggie had a booming singing voice and spent some of her youth captivating audiences with impromptu performances. We will remember her with an (unsalted) saltine cracker in hand, standing in a freshly Fabuloso scented kitchen, humorously telling her loved one’s to leave her be.
Maggie held a deep respect for God and was a true fighter who stood firm in what she believed in. The love of God flowed through her to others. She is an inspiration to many and her influence will live eternally because of the actions she carried out in life. We remember her fondly and she will always be in our hearts. We hope to reunite with her one day to share all of the moments of beauty she left in the world.
