She was born to the late Gaspar Rosado & Emilia Velasquez, July 12th,1931 in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. She was one of seven children.
Margarita was a single mother to Elizabeth who has predeceased her and Lucy (Chago) till she met the love of her life in New York City, Pablo Morales. They married in 1962 and expanded their family with daughter, Nancy (Rafael). During their 60 beautiful years of marriage they lived in New York City, Cleveland, Puerto Rico and Florida.
She made sure to instill her strong faith in the lord to her grandchildren, and you would often see her in church with them by her side. They were truly blessed with the best “Mama” who always made sure they were fed till they couldn’t eat any more and went home with a few dollars in their pocket “but couldn’t tell Papa” She was the most loving “Mama” to Sam (Amber), Jose (Lori), Luis, Mimi (Tim), Alex, Yaritza, Melanie, Alyssa (Bobby),Anthony (Achlyan). Great grandchildren: Dezaray, Jaezin (Chey), Gaibriella, Evan(Aurelia), Alyna, Elisabeth, Khloe, JayJay, Isaiah, Vivian, Zoett, Yuliana, Ezra, Aneliss, AJ ,Lil Sam, Ryan, and Mason.
Great Great grandchildren: Donovan and Domanik. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in different states. Her amazing in-laws: Pacho (Felin, deceased), Gabino (Ramona) and Ramon (Tati). The members from her church became family to her and always checked on Doña Margarita if she missed a service…because nothing could keep her from going to church!
Margarita was blessed in her final years to have the most wonderful caretakers when her family couldn’t be there. The family could never thank them enough for their love and devotion to Margarita. Special thanks to Carlos & Madeline Cardona, Tero, Yari, Nurse Lydia, and Aides Sophia and Zoila. There are numerous more that have been there to help, please know we are grateful for each and every one of you!
Our lil firecracker will be profoundly missed but her memories will last us all a lifetime. We’ve all learned how to make the perfect cup of coffee and to never miss a Monday at the thrift stores. She can rest in peace knowing we will take care of Papa and we”ll keep our promise to not let him re-marry.
