Mary Gevonia Bennett

A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A wake will occur Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 7901 Quincy Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44104. A home going service will occur Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 7901 Quincy Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44104.

Mary G Bennett (Bonnie) was born September 29, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio to late Mary Newton and Homer Baldwin. Mary was the oldest of Mary’s three children Greg Baldwin and Eric Baldwin

Mary accepted Christ at very early age and later became a member at Emmanuel Baptist church. Mary was educated in Cleveland Public Schools after graduating Glenville High School she went on to attend Central State college. Mary married Michael B Bennett Sr, and between them they had four children, Lonnie Cage Jr., Martika Cage, Michael Bennett Jr., and Steven Bennett.

Mary had a very strong work ethic and was a very dedicated and trust worthy employee. She worked for the Justice center for many years, she also dedicated her life to Cleveland Municipal School district as a Bus operator for over20 plus years. Some of Mary’s favorite hobbies were “SHOPPING” and playing bingo in her spare time with close and extended friends who knew her as Bonnie. If you knew Mary, you would have known this was her time of the year to shop, giving presents to “EVERY ONE” she knew. Mary also loved travelling the world with the love of her life Michael Bennett, if not travelling Mary enjoyed watching Lifetime Network listening to Kem one her favorite musical artist.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving parents Mary Newton and Homer Baldwin. She leaves to cherish her loving husband and best friend of 21 years Michael B Bennett Sr, children Lonnie Cage, Martika Cage, Michael Bennett Jr. and Steven Bennett, her dear brothers Greg (Lisa Baldwin) and Eric Baldwin; three sisters in laws and three brothers in laws, ten grandchildren and a host of nieces as well as nephew’s cousin extended families and friends.
