To Miguel's family: I am deeply saddened by the loss of Miguel. I just found out today and broke down in tears. You were a wonderful student to have in clase de espanol and I pray for your family who's left behind to grieve. There really are no words of comfort that can ease the pain of losing a child.  All I can hope is that these words can help you to begin to get through this terrible time.  I remember holding Miguel when he was just a baby when the family still lived downstairs from us on Headley.  I remember the strong love that Bobbie and Victor and the kids had for Miguel, even as an infant.  I regret not getting to see him take root and grow into a well-behaved young man with the entire world ahead of him--although I get the sense from these entries that he touched the lives of everyone he happened to meet.  My thoughts and prayers are with both Miguel and his family, and I pray that God blesses them and holds them in His heart throughout this terrible time.

My daughter April Lavender went to both Ascension and WPCA with Miguel. They were in Mr. Bartell's class together. She often would talk about him. She told me she used to play with him on the playground at WPCA. He will be missed by so many.
