

Rodney A. Sigley, age 55, of Painesville, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH.
Rodney was born Jan. 13, 1960, in Painesville. A 1978 graduate of Riverside High School, Rodney joined the Marine Corps in the delayed entry program as a senior in high school where he proudly served his country until 1982. His adventures with the Marine Fighter/Attack Squadron (VMFA)-235 “Death Angels” brought him to numerous places around the world, to include: Hawaii, Japan, Guam, Korea, and the Philippines.
He was an avid weapons collector and martial artist. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and talking with his grandsons. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed deeply. His stories are a great way to remember the man that Rodney was and continues to be in our hearts.
Rodney is survived by his son, Wesley of Euclid; daughter, Elizabeth (Michael) Gay of Washington; and grandsons Christopher and Gabriel Gay.
He is also survived by his brother, Claude (Vickie) of Pennsylvania; sister, Gloria House; brother-in-law, Don Salsgiver; stepfather, Bill Gallagher, all of Painesville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude J. Sigley; mother, Sylvia J. (McCauley) Gallagher; sister, The Rev. Denise R. Salsgiver; brother, Douglas; and best friend in life, Connie (Peck) Minnie.
