Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cummingsanddavisfh.com for the Hogan family.
Thomas Hogan Jr was born the first of three children to the late Thomas and Lula (Robinson) Hogan, Sr., on July 10, 1932. He departed this life on December 1, 2021.
After the passing of his mother, Thomas, and his siblings went to live with their grandmother, Margie Hoskins, in Artesia Mississippi to attend elementary school. He would later join his father in Chattaroy, West Virginia where he attended Liberty High School in Williamson, West Virginia.
Thomas serviced in the Military with the rank of Private First Class from February 27, 1953, until his honorable discharge on December 28, 1954. After leaving the military he settled down, planting his roots in Cleveland OH, becoming a union steel mill worker for LTV Steel where he remained until retirement after 41 years while also working for Metro Health Hospital for 30 years.
His love for gambling earned him the nickname "Tom, Do It, Do It, Dooley.” He loved his 90 proof Paramount and would say: “it’ll put some hair on your chest.” He loved to cruise around town in his white and burgundy Buick “Deuce and a Quarter.” He loved to read the newspaper and watch his sports and soap operas. He loved hanging with his beloved family and friends where he would play cards and take their money.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved children daughter, Belinda Whatley (deceased); daughter, Darlene Hogan; son, Bennett M. Hogan (Myiesha); son, Lamont Chestnut (Annette), son Thomas Hogan; son, Donzell Keith Rogers; daughter, Kimberly Rogers; daughter Vonda Rogers; a brother Joseph Hogan (deceased) a sister, Mary Strother; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
